Abstract

|
By observing the relation between the resistance distribution and the therapeutic effect of streptomycin on the mouse weighing 15 gm, strain.406, male, inoculated with human-type PN strain and variously combined resistant PN strain to 1r, 10 r and 100r of streptomycin and the observation of resistance developing pattern in the treated group, the following result were obtained.
1. The effect of the streptomycin therapy on resistant strain to 1r of streptomycin is remarkable.
2. The therapeutic effect can be expected when the resistant strain to J or and 100¢¥ of streptomycin exist 10 and 5 percent of, all population but no effect can be expected when those exist more than 25 and 10 percent of all population.
3. The emergence of the resistance strain Is remarkable around the 60 clays after the administration of streptomycin.
4. Resistant strain to streptomycin become somewhat less virulent than original: strain.
5. In the event of administering streptomycin, the sensitivity test: of tubercle, bacilli must be performed.
